A broad surface to mid-level trough lingers across the island chain with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorm activity across our islands.

Over the next few days, a couple shearlines are expected to cross the island chain with occasional cloudiness and scattered showers with marginal upper level support for thunderstorm activity across St.Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

These shearlines should propagate from a tropical wave in the Central Atlantic Ocean which is losing its energy due to Saharan dust/dry air north of the tropical wave and wind shear in the vicinity. After the passage of a shearline/trough late Saturday, the Atlantic High Pressure System should rebuild across our area.

Light to gentle (10 – 20km/h) south-easterly breeze should continue into Thursday, increasing to moderate by evening (up to 30km/h).  Sea conditions on the west coasts should be smooth to slight with wave heights less than 0.6m. Slight sea conditions are expected across the east coasts with wave heights gradually increasing during Friday to become slight to moderate (1.0 – 1.5m). Occasional thin haze should continue across SVG, with clearing expected during Friday before slight/moderate hazy conditions return on Saturday. Barometric readings should range 1014 - 1017mb over the next few days.
