A shearline moved across the island chain overnight with occasional cloudiness and scattered showers and few isolated thunderstorm activity across St.Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). Another shearline/trough is expected by Saturday afternoon. In the intervals fair conditions are expected as the Atlantic High Pressure System struggles to rebuild across our area. Slight hazy conditions are expected over the weekend.

Lower level moisture below 700mb (cloud patches) ahead of an approaching tropical wave, should result in scattered showers from late Sunday.

A cluster of showers and thunderstorm activity with a 1012mb low pressure area associated with a tropical wave in the Central Atlantic Ocean, about 1400 miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands is being monitored. Deep layered shear is favourable across the area, which could allow for some development during the next few days as it moves westward and nears the Lesser Antilles by mid-week.

Gentle to moderate (10 – 25km/h) east south-easterly breeze should continue, increasing by Sunday to moderate and fresh (25-40 km/h). Directions should back to east north-easterly late Sunday.

Sea conditions across SVG should be slight to moderate (1.0 – 1.5m), increasing slightly by Sunday to peak 2.0m on east coasts. Barometric readings should range 1014 - 1017mb over the next few days.
