The ridge of high pressure will continue to be the dominant feature across SVG tonight into tomorrow. A dry and stable atmosphere will result in mostly fair conditions.
Jerry is the tenth named storm of the 2019 hurricane season. On the forecast track, the system will be near the northern Leeward Islands around Thursday night/Friday. Jerry continues to pose no threat to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. However, as the system continues on its west north-westward track towards the Leeward Islands, model guidance is indicating a northward pull of moisture from the Inter- tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) region. Therefore, some showers are likely across SVG around Friday.
Easterly winds at approximately 10km/h- 20km/h can become calm on occasions tonight, becoming mostly from the south east tomorrow. A decrease in wind speeds will be noticeable tomorrow. Sea conditions are slight to moderate (1.0m-2.0m) in open water, becoming 1.5m on the east coast from tomorrow evening. Slight haze intrusion is forecast to thin out by tomorrow afternoon.
