A tropical wave will begin to affect Saint Vincent and the Grenadines tonight. As the night progress, instability can result in some moderate to heavy showers.
Windy conditions will also be experienced across SVG. In addition, haze intrusion tonight can reduce shower activity, however, by tomorrow this intrusion will be removed and showers are forecast to become heavy as the tropical wave crosses the island chain. Showers and thunderstorm activity could intensify Sunday night. Monday is forecast to be rainy with instability lingering into Tuesday morning. An improvement is anticipated by Tuesday afternoon.
Strong winds (50km/h) will persist into tonight peaking with moderate gale strength (up to 55km/h) during Sunday, before decreasing to moderate breeze (20 -30 km/h) by early Tuesday. Sea conditions are rough in open water with swells from 3.0m to 4.5m. A High-Surf Advisory and Small-Craft Warning are in effect as of 6:00pm tonight to 12:00 noon on Monday the 23rd September, 2019. Haze intrusion tonight can reduce visibility, thinning out by tomorrow morning.
