Haze thinned out last-night allowing a few showers across our islands and slight haze should not prevent showers with thunderstorm activity this afternoon and tonight. A weak wind surge should cross the area Tuesday, while scattered showers continue across the Grenadine Islands. ITCZ should be nudging northward across the Grenadine Islands by Thursday night.
Moderate to occasionally fresh (30 – 40 km/h) easterly breeze could gust up to 50 km/h tonight and during Tuesday,
as the low level wind surge crosses the area. Wind direction could occasionally turn north-easterly with speeds gradually decreasing from late Tuesday, becoming moderate (20- 30 km/h) by Thursday.
The approaching wind surge has weakened, but still expected to cause above normal wave heights tonight into Tuesday, now ranging 1.8 to 2.5m, with moderate easterly swells on west coasts and moderate to possibly rough easterly swells on east coasts of SVG…Small-craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution. North-north-easterly swells are expected late Wednesday, but wave heights should be gradually falling.
