A weak trough is approaching the islands, and as upper level becomes conducive to enhance shower activity, model guidance is indicating the chance of some showers as the weekend progress into early Monday morning. After which, a few occasional showers are likely as the ridge of high pressure becomes the dominant feature.
An easterly wind flow at 25km/h to 40km/h will be experienced becoming east north east to east (ENE-E) around Sunday into Monday, with higher gust possible near showers. Brisk easterly winds will be observed (>40km/h) around Tuesday and Wednesday as the ridge of high pressure builds. Consequently, deterioration in sea conditions on the east coast is anticipated with swells peaking to approximately 3.0m. In addition, slight haze intrusion will continue to limit visibility on occasion.
