Fair to partly cloudy skies should gradually change early Saturday as the low to mid level shearline moves northward affecting the Grenadines tonight with scattered showers and by Saturday over mainland St. Vincent.
The upper levels could give support for convective activity with troughing across the area from late Saturday. Early Sunday, increase vorticity at lower levels (850mb) is possible across our area as a tropical wave moves closer to our islands bringing showers. Models suggest rainfall accumulations of more than (50mm) 2 inches are possible. Lingering instability with a few showers can be expected on Monday.
Meanwhile in the Caribbean Sea, strong vorticity is expected to move eastward (toward the island chain from the west) reaching the islands by Tuesday. This is anticipated due to an upper level trough in the westerly flow, which could create the potential for increased cloudiness, showers and thunderstorm activity Tuesday.
Fresh to strong (30-50km/h) easterly breeze should generally decrease to moderate breeze by Sunday afternoon. Also, slight haze on Saturday is expected to thin out further by Sunday. Moderate to rough seas (2.0 - 3.0 m) are gradually decreasing, expected to be slight to moderate (1.2- 1.8 m) across SVG by Sunday afternoon.
