Pockets of moisture embedded within the trade wind flow should continue to trigger some brief occasional light to moderate scattered showers across St. Vincent & the Grenadines this afternoon. In addition, varying intensities of Saharan dust concentrations are expected to persist into early next week. Small craft operators and persons with respiratory concerns should continue to exercise caution for low visibility and poor air quality. Fair to partly cloudy and breezy conditions with isolated showers are forecast during the weekend as patches of low-level moisture cross the islands. A tropical wave should begin to affect the islands by Monday afternoon.
Gusty winds should accompany showers this afternoon, while moderate to occasionally strong (25km/h - 45km/h)east north east to easterly (ENE-E) trades will move across the islands between Friday and Sunday. A slight decrease(near 30km/h) is anticipated for Monday.
Moderate to rough sea conditions with swells peaking to 1.5m on the western coasts and near 3.0 m on the eastern coasts are forecast during the next 24 hours. A Small craft advisory is in effect for above normal sea swells and gusty winds. Sea-bathers and other users of the sea should continue to exercise caution. A slight improvement(1.5m to 2.0m) is anticipated from late Sunday evening.
