Partly cloudy skies, hazy and occasionally breezy conditions with a few isolated shallow showers are forecast during the next 24 hours across St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Small-craft operators and persons with respiratory concerns should continue to exercise caution for reduced visibility and air-quality due to Saharan Dust. On Tuesday, a tropical wave will inch closer to the island chain resulting in cloudy spells accompanied by occasional showers during late afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms and moderate showers are likely during the early hours into Wednesday with similar conditions persisting throughout the day.
East to east north easterly(E-ENE) moderate to fresh (approximately 20km/h – 30km/h) trades would become east south easterly (ESE) for a short period on Monday afternoon. An ENE to ESE flow is anticipated on Wednesday with speeds increasing to approximately 40km/h with higher gusts possible near showers.
Sea conditions are light to moderate with swells peaking to 1.0m on the western coasts and 2.0m on the eastern coasts. An improvement(1.0m - 1.5m) is likely around Monday evening into Tuesday, but swell heights may rise again to become moderate(1.5m - 2.0m) on Wednesday as wind speeds are expected to increase around the time the tropical wave affects the island chain.
