Saharan dust haze concentrations will gradually reduce over the next few days bringing an improvement to the visibility across St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Partly cloudy skies, slightly hazy and occasionally breezy conditions with a few isolated shallow showers are forecast within the next 24 hours. On Tuesday, a tropical wave will inch closer to the island chain resulting in occasional showers close to late afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms and light to moderate showers are likely from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with similar conditions persisting throughout the day. A weak ridge pattern should build across the islands by Thursday afternoon resulting in partly cloudy and breezy conditions.
East to east north easterly(E-ENE) moderate to fresh (approximately 20km/h – 30km/h) trades would should return late today(Monday). An east south easterly(ESE) flow is anticipated on Wednesday with speeds increasing to approximately 40km/h with higher gusts possible near showers. The winds are expected to remain occasionally strong(near 40 km/h) across Thursday.
Sea conditions are light to moderate in open water with swells peaking to 1.0m on the western coasts and under 2.0m on the eastern coasts. Swell heights may slightly rise again to become moderate(1.5m - 2.0m) late Tuesday into Wednesday as wind speeds are expected to increase when the tropical wave begins to affect the island chain.
