Some approaching moisture embedded within the wind field coupled with marginally favourable upper level conditions may instigate some isolated showers across St. Vincent & the Grenadines early Monday. A few afternoon showers are likely over the mainland while this may be experienced across the Grenadines by nightfall. On Tuesday, instability ahead of a tropical wave that draws closer to the island chain would allow for occasionally cloudy skies and a few sporadic showers with a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms. Late Tuesday into Wednesday, models suggests a medium chance of moderate showers and isolated thunderstorms as the wave affects the islands.
East to east north easterly(E-ENE) gentle to fresh(~15-30 km/h) trades are anticipated across the island chain over the next 48 hours. By Wednesday evening, an east south easterly(ESE)flow would cross the islands as the tropical wave's axis progresses west of the chain.
Sea conditions will be slight to moderate (~1.0m -1.5m) in open water on western and eastern coasts respectively over the next few days. However, conditions should become generally moderate(~1.5m-2.0m) by late Tuesday. Small craft operators and sea-bathers are therefore advised to exercise caution for above normal sea swells.
Slight concentrations of Saharan dust haze may be visible occasionally over the next 3 days.
