A weak ridge pattern would be dominant across St. Vincent & the Grenadines and a few light sporadic showers are likely across the islands afternoon. Apart from a few isolated early morning showers on Friday, fair to occasionally cloudy conditions should persist. Early Saturday instability associated with "Tropical Storm Josephine" should begin to affect the islands. Pockets of light to moderate showers and isolated thunderstorms are anticipated.
Occasionally strong(~40km/h) east north easterly(ENE) trades could decrease tonight becoming fresh/moderate(~20-30km/h) over the next few days. A temporarily east south easterly(ESE) flow is expected on Saturday.
Sea conditions remain moderate (1.5m - 2.0m) in open water tonight into tomorrow. Therefore, small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells and gusty winds especially on eastern coasts. An improvement to slight to moderate(1.0m - 1.5m) can be expected from Friday night.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Josephine is located over the Eastern Atlantic about 800 miles east north east of the SVG. The system possesses maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and is moving west north-westward at 15 mph. Model guidance suggests that the system should pass north east of SVG.
The SVG Meteorological Office will continue to monitor the development of this system as it moves across the Atlantic and provide the necessary updates.
