As shallow patches of moisture approach the island chain, a favourable upper level environment exists and this may result in a few light and at times moderate showers across St. Vincent & the Grenadines heading into Tuesday. In addition, there is also potential for isolated thunderstorms to develop. During Tuesday, similar conditions are likely as a south easterly flow would enable the transfer of equatorial moisture to the islands. A tropical wave should begin to affect SVG by Wednesday evening. Therefore, occasional scattered showers and thunderstorm activity are possible into Thursday. A shearline associated with the wave could trigger a few showers firstly across the mainland during the afternoon, before spreading to the Grenadines by nightfall.
Gentle to slightly moderate(15-30km/h) south easterly trades will move across the islands tonight, increasing to strong(~40km/h) at times on Tuesday. A north easterly flow is anticipated for Wednesday while on Thursday winds should become south easterly behind the wave's axis before reverting back to north easterly.
Sea conditions will be slight to moderate (1.0m-1.5m) in open water during the next 48 hours, gradually increasing to moderate(1.5m-2.0m) by Thursday evening. In addition, there will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
