A weak ridge pattern will continue to be dominant across the islands. However, day time heating and light winds could result in localized showers and thunderstorm activity across some parts of SVG this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Paulette and Tropical Storm Rene which are located over the Central Atlantic continues to track west north-westward and away from the island chain. These systems are not expected to pose a direct threat to SVG.
Additionally, a strong tropical wave located over the far Eastern continues to move westward at 15 mph to 20 mph. There is a high chance of this system developing into a tropical cyclone within the next few days before it approaches the region by early next week. The Meteorological Services will continue to monitor and provide updates on the progress of this system as necessary.
Light and variable winds are expected to gradual increase by Saturday between 10 km/h to 25 km/h and from a southerly direction.
Slight to moderate sea swells peaking to 1.5 meters (5.0 feet) will continue before slightly increasing to 2.0 meters (7.0 feet) by early Saturday.
