Occasional showers, some of which may be moderate at times are likely especially across the southern Grenadines early Friday as weak instability continues to affect our islands. A south easterly wind flow could draw moisture to the islands early Saturday and result in similar conditions. Models suggest a favourable upper level environment could spread the activity to the mainland along with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should remain alert. A mixture of sunshine and a few showers are forecast for Sunday.
Gentle to moderate (~15-25km/h) east north easterly(ENE) trades will move across the islands over the 24 hours, becoming east to east south easterly(E-ESE) on Saturday.
Sea conditions will be slight to moderate in open waters, with swells peaking to 1.2m on the western coasts and 2.2m on the eastern coasts tonight. Small craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution on eastern coasts for above normal sea swells. Slight conditions(0.5m-1.2m) are likely on Friday but by nightfall, swells should range between 1.2m - 2.0m. In addition, there will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
