The upper levels will provide occasional support for some moderate to heavy showers at times tonight across SVG as a surface to low-level trough continues to affect the Southern Windwards. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should remain alert. Instability will last into Sunday, however, as the day progresses a dry environment should result in fair to partly cloudy conditions. Early Monday, (the final day of the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane season)a shearline could trigger some showers across the north of mainland St.Vincent before a ridge pattern gradually builds. This would allow for only brief sporadic showers mixed with sunny skies into and across Tuesday.
Gentle to moderate (15 -30km/h) trades will move across the islands during the next 72 hours period. Tonight, the flow will be between ESE to ENE. From Sunday an ENE - E flow would become dominant. Consequently, smooth to slight (0.5m-1.0m) east north easterly swells are anticipated on the western coasts, while moderate (1.5m-2.0m) conditions are likely on the eastern coasts. An improvement of up to 1.5m on eastern coasts is forecast for late Monday onward. Slight dust haze concentrations may be visible around Monday.
