Scattered showers are likely across St. Vincent and the Grenadines tonight as a weak low-level trough crosses the islands. Residents and motorists should be alert in areas prone to flash-flooding and land-slides, or near rivers and streams. Over the next few days, unstable conditions could result in periods of occasional light rain and pockets of moderate/heavy showers.
Moderate (‘~20 – 30 km/h) north-easterly trades across our islands could occasionally increase to fresh (‘~30 – 40 km/h) during the night-time.
Slight to moderate sea-conditions with easterly sea-swells are across our islands; near 1.0 m on western coasts and near 1.5 m on eastern
coasts of SVG.
A temporary rise in swell heights can be expected Thursday afternoon (nearing 1.2 m on west and 1.8 m on east coasts) and originating from north north-east during the night. Swell heights could fall to range 1.0 to 1.5 m across SVG by Saturday. However, mariners and sea-bathers should exercise extreme caution as long-period waves which cause life-threatening surf and rip currents are likely across our islands by Sunday.
