A low-level trough would continue to affect the islands over the next 36 hours. This at times would generate cloudy skies and also produce some light to moderate showers on occasions. Some improvement the existing conditions conditions are expected across the afternoon on Thursday as the Atlantic High pressure system regains dominance. A few passing showers are possible during the mid morning period on Friday and Saturday.
Moderate to strong(20h-40km/h) east to east south easterly trades will cross the islands within the next 24 hours. Speeds may decrease to fresh(~35km/h) on Friday and Saturday and the flow is expected to become easterly to east north easterly.
Seas are currently moderate to rough in open waters, with swells peaking at 1.5m on the western coasts, and 2.8m on the eastern coasts. A rising trend is expected overnight and swells may reach heights near 3.0m on eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should be prepared for above normal sea swells and gusty winds and exercise extreme caution during this time. Generally moderate(1.5m -2.0m) conditions could return as early as Friday.
In addition, slight haze intrusion across the islands will thin out around Thursday afternoon.
