The upper levels should remain relatively dry across our area supporting current stable conditions. Hence, Fair to partly cloudy skies with possible isolated showers this afternoon. The relatively stable atmosphere associated with a High Pressure System, is expected to change as weak instability crosses our area overnight into early Monday. Low level troughing, induced by a weakening low in the Atlantic Ocean; moving around the Atlantic High Pressure could cause low level moisture to penetrate the mid levels temporarily overnight. Thus, a few shallow showers into early Monday are expected.

Another weak surface to low level trough (easterly wave) crossing the area by Tuesday evening into Wednesday may generate a few more showers. Models indicate that greater rainfall accumulations could occur across the Grenadines Wednesday.

Moderate (20-28km/h) north easterly breeze should decrease to gentle (12-19km/h) by evening, becoming temporarily light and variable Monday afternoon. A gradual increase to moderate breeze again is expected by Wednesday.

The High-Surf advisory and Small-craft warning will be discontinued at 6:00 pm today, Sunday 10th December, 2017. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution as seas are returning to normal, as gradual reduction in wind speeds will be reflected in reduced wave heights. Slight to moderate (1.0m-2.0m) swells are possible by nightfall. The good visibility, with slight haze on the horizon should continue this afternoon and tonight. A slight increase in dust concentrations on Monday could reduce visibility. However, a rapid increase in dust concentrations on Wednesday afternoon with dust concentrations ranging 80-160 ug/m**3 should be more noticeable.
