A few showers are likely tonight into tomorrow under breezy conditions as patches of shallow moisture crosses the island chain within the east north easterly wind flow. The current hazy condition is expected to intensify over the next few days as a plume of Saharan dust gradually makes its way across the Eastern Caribbean. For this reason, a significant reduction in visibility and air quality can be expected as the week progresses although isolated showers could intermix with the hazy conditions occasionally.
Moderate to occasionally strong(25-40km/h) trades will cross the islands within the next 24 hours, becoming east to east south easterly from Wednesday afternoon. A reduction(15-25km/h) in wind speed is anticipated around early Friday. Seas are moderate in open waters with swells peaking at 1.5m on the western coasts and 2.5m on the eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells, gusty winds and reduced visibility due to Saharan dust haze. An improvement(1.0m - 2.0m) to these conditions may be expected late Thursday into Friday as the wind speed decreases.
