Occasional shallow showers under breezy and hazy conditions are likely within the next 24 hours before another tropical wave begins to affect St Vincent & the Grenadines on Wednesday. An increase in cloudiness is likely as the day progresses with pockets of moderate showers and the possibility of isolated thunderstorms. Lingering instability associated with the wave should allow for additional activity on Thursday with showers intensifying across the Grenadines firstly before spreading to the mainland by late afternoon. In addition, Saharan dust concentrations will remain across the islands during the next 72 hours period, reducing visibility and decreasing air quality.
Occasionally strong ( near 40km/h) east north easterly trades are likely within the next 24 hours before a slight decease(25-35km/h)around Wednesday. By Thursday evening winds should decrease further (20-30km/h) and become east south easterly.
Seas are currently slight to moderate in open water, with swells peaking at 1.0m on the western coasts and ranging between 2.0m – 2.5m on the eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells, gusty winds and reduced visibility due to Saharan dust haze. Sea conditions on eastern coasts could improve(1.5m -2.0m) from late Wednesday
