Unstable conditions continue to linger as moisture trailing the once tropical wave moves across SVG. Expect pockets of moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms to continue this morning. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides and near rivers and streams are asked to exercise caution. A decrease in moisture is forecast during the afternoon with fair to occasionally cloudy skies and slight chance of showers anticipated for the remainder of the weekend.
Meanwhile, a few tropical waves are traversing the Atlantic Ocean, to affect SVG at different times during the week. The first wave is forecast to affect the islands around Monday generating a few scattered showers. After which, moisture levels will increase, and showers and thunderstorms activities are likely as the other tropical waves affect the islands. The Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the progress of these waves. All residents and motorists should remember that we are in the hurricane/wet season and stay updated and exercise caution.
A general moderate to occasionally fresh easterly wind flow, approximately 20km/h- 35km/h, will move across SVG during the next 72 hours period. Seas will remain slight to moderate in open waters with swells peaking at 1.0m on the western coasts and 2.0m on the eastern coasts. In addition, there will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
