The Atlantic high pressure system will continue to dominate for the remainder of the afternoon ahead of a weak tropic wave that should begin to affect the islands late tonight into Monday. In addition, a strong tropical wave could affect our islands late Tuesday into Wednesday. This feature could trigger moderate to heavy showers across SVG accompanied by isolated thunderstorms. The SVG Meteorological Service would continue to monitor the progress of the wave and provide the necessary updates. All residents are advised to remain alert.
Occasionally Fresh(near 35 km/h) east to east south easterly trades would cross the islands this afternoon, becoming easterly and east north easterly across Monday and Tuesday. Gusty winds(near 45kmh) could be experienced along with shower activity associated with the tropical wave on Wednesday.
Seas are currently slight to moderate in open water, peaking up to 1.2 on western coasts and between 2.0m to 2.2m on the eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells especially on eastern coasts. Swell heights could deteriorate(near 2.5m) on eastern coasts towards Wednesday. There will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
