A tropical wave continues to affect SVG today, Friday resulting in occasional moderate showers during the early parts of the morning. The Grenadines may be the main receiver of these showers this morning, nevertheless expect scattered showers across the mainland as well.
Shower activity is forecast to decrease briefly as the day progresses into Saturday, and then the chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms increases by Saturday evening into Sunday as another tropical wave affects the island.
Meanwhile, moderate Saharan dust intrusion will be in the vicinity, thinning out by Saturday with no significant intrusion by Sunday. At moderate conditions, Saharan dust mass reduce air quality and visibility.
A general moderate easterly (E) (20km/h-30km/h) wind flow will move across SVG into the weekend, veering to east south east (ESE) on occasions. Seas will be slight to moderate in open waters, with swells peaking at 1.0m on the western coasts, and ranging between 1.5m – 2.0m on the eastern coasts.
