A weak trough system is forecast to traverse the islands tonight and some occasional scattered showers are likely.
The Atlantic high pressure system will rebuild across the islands by late tomorrow afternoon. Wind speeds would therefore increase, ranging between 35 to 45 km/h with higher gusts. In response to the wind speeds, sea swells will deteriorate as a result and peak near 3.0m. Thus an advisory for above normal sea swells may be issued during this time. The Atlantic high pressure system will try to maintain dominance across the islands on Sunday. However a few weak pulses will generate shallow low level cloud patches across the island chain. Therefore, occasional cloudiness with a few scattered showers are forecast up to this forecast period (Monday night), alternating with some fair conditions.
