Weak unstable conditions could trigger a few scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) tonight and during Wednesday. A tropical wave is expected to approach the islands on Thursday, with showers and thunderstorm activity increasing across SVG towards evening into the
night. Occasional showers and thunderstorms could continue on Friday…Be alert in areas prone to flash-flooding or near rivers and streams.
Light to gentle (less than 20 km/h) south-easterly wind-flow could become calm at times, gradually increasing to moderate (near 25 km/h) by late Thursday. Moderate to occasionally fresh (near 35 km/h) breeze can be expected across our islands during Friday night.
North-easterly swells in open water; near 1.0 m on the west of SVG with slight sea-conditions and up to 1.5 m on the east of SVG with moderate sea-conditions. Northerly swells propagating from ‘Major Hurricane Sam’ could reach our shores by Wednesday night and slight rise (1.2 – 1.8 m) in swell heights may be noticeable by Friday night.
