Fair to occasionally cloudy skies are forecast this morning with few scattered showers, but by evening into the night, showers are forecast to increase with a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms across the island. Briefly around Thursday morning, some fair conditions are expected ahead of a tropical wave, but by Thursday afternoon into Friday, with the help of an upper level trough, the wave will generate moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorm activity across SVG.
Moderate easterly trades (20km/h-35km/h) are anticipated, decreasing in speed (15km/h-30km/h) and blowing from the east north-east (ENE) around Wednesday evening. Wind speeds will increase again around Wednesday night, before decreasing ahead of the wave around Thursday. Strong winds (25km/h-40km/h) are likely Thursday night with possible gusts near showers and a moderate (25km/h-35km/h) easterly flow is expected on Friday.
Seas will generally be slight to moderate in open waters with swells ranging between 1.0m-1.5m on the western coasts and ranging between 2.3m-2.5m on the eastern coasts. In addition a thin film of Saharan dust haze will be visible on Wednesday, with a gradual thickening around Thursday.
