The chance of moderate showers increases tonight into tomorrow(Tuesday) along with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms as a tropical wave crosses our islands. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should therefore remain alert. Dry conditions are anticipated for Wednesday, however by nightfall another tropical wave should begin to affect our islands into Thursday morning. The Saint Vincent Meteorological Services will continue to monitor this wave and provide the necessary updates.
Light to gentle(<20km/h) east north easterly trades would cross the islands tonight, becoming east south easterly from Tuesday. Wind speeds should gradually increase(~15-30km/h) by Wednesday and should become strong(near 40km/h) and easterly on occasions from early Thursday. Sea conditions will remain slight with swells peaking at 0.5m on the western coasts and 1.0m on the eastern coasts. Moderate conditions(1.2 -1.5m) are forecast for eastern coasts by Wednesday as the winds gradually increase, with further deterioration anticipated on Thursday. Small craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution. In addition, there will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
