A mid to upper level trough stationed above the eastern Caribbean has provided support, contributing to cloudy skies accompanied by occasional moderate showers early today(Monday). This upper-level environment is expected to remain in place within the next 24 hours. With low level moisture present, similar conditions are possible in pockets across the islands. Therefore, residents and motorists near rivers and streams located in the red and orange zones near the La Soufriere Volcano should remain alert. Relatively fair weather should return on Wednesday, whereas additional unstable conditions are anticipated for Thursday.
Strong(near 40km/h) east north easterly trades could become moderate/fresh(25-35km/h) on Tuesday and Wednesday but strong winds are expected again on Thursday. Seas are currently moderate to rough in open water with swells peaking up to 1.5m on western coasts and ranging between 2.5m to 2.8m on eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells and occasional gusty winds. There will be no significant haze intrusion for this forecast period.
