The chance of showers increases tonight into early Saturday as a weak shearline approaches our islands. However, a relatively dry and stable mid-level environment exists and this would seek to limit any heavy and consistent shower activity. The Atlantic high pressure system would be dominant over the next few days, so sporadic showers are likely as low level cloud patches move across the island chain. No significant dust haze intrusion is anticipated within this forecast period.
Strong(near 40 km/h) east north easterly trades should become occasionally fresh(20-30km/h) and east south easterly by Saturday afternoon. The wind direction should revert to east north easterly on Sunday and become generally easterly on Monday. Sea swells are peaking at 1.5m on the western coasts and ranging between 2.5m - 3.0m on the eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells especially on eastern coasts. Some improvement(seas peaking near 2.0m) is anticipated from around mid-Sunday.
