The flash-flood watch has been downgraded to a flash flood advisory. Therefore, residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should still continue to exercise caution as the tropical wave continues to affect the islands. Instability trailing the wave is expected to bring unstable conditions across our area occasionally during Friday and Saturday. The SVG Meteorological Service will continue to monitor this feature and provide the necessary updates as time progresses. Meanwhile, improvements to these conditions are anticipated as early as late Saturday.
Light and gentle(less than 20km/h) south easterly trades will cross the islands within the next 24 hours. Winds will become east northeasterly and slightly increase(15-25km/h) on Saturday before reverting to south easterly across Sunday afternoon. Gusts may accompany showers. Seas will be slight to moderate in open waters with swells peaking near 0.5m on the western coasts and ranging between 1.0m to 2.0m on the eastern coasts. There will be no significant haze intrusion for this forecast period.
