Instability trailing the strong tropical wave will linger across the islands tonight and Friday. After that, patches of moisture will move across the island chain with a slight to moderate chance of a few shower activity on Saturday and Sunday as an upper level trough positions itself to the east of the island chain. Warm conditions are expected over the weekend.
Thursday night : Partly cloudy to cloudy with some scattered moderate to heavy showers and slight chance of isolated thunderstorms as moisture trails the slowly developing tropical wave.
Friday: Moisture will be lingering across the islands. Showers are forecast to be occasional and somewhat isolated. Model guidance still indicates that isolated thunderstorms are likely.
Saturday: Moisture decreases, however an upper level trough will be to the east of Barbados, and some isolated moderate showers are possible.
Sunday morning: A few isolated showers are possible.
Winds are forecast to blow from the east southeast to east (ESE-E) at15km/h-25km/h with higher gusts near showers tonight, becoming mostly east north easterly (ENE) over the weekend. Seas are forecast to be moderate in open waters, with swells peaking at 1.5m on the western coasts and 2.0m on the eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers are asked to exercise caution for occasional gusty winds and above normal sea swells. As Friday progresses into the weekend, expect an improvement on the seas, with swells peaking at 1.0m on the western coasts and 1.5m on the eastern coasts. In addition, there will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
