As shallow patches of moisture crosses our islands within the next 24 hours, fair to occasionally cloudy skies are anticipated. A suppressive upper level environment will seek to inhibit any significant shower activity and allow for showers that should be quite sparse and sporadic in nature. In addition, light and variable wind speeds will contribute to warm conditions that could trigger afternoon localised activity. An approaching tropical wave increases the chances of showers along Wednesday and Thursday, however model guidance suggests that its associated shower activity could remain relatively low.
Light and gentle(<20 km/h) easterly to east north easterly trades will cross the islands today but may become moderate(near 25km/h) on Tuesday and Wednesday. Light wind speeds should return on Thursday as the direction becomes east south easterly by evening. Seas are smooth to slight in open water with swells ranging between 0.5m to 1.2m. From Tuesday, swell heights may peak near 1.0 on western coasts and close to 1.8m on eastern coasts. There will be no significant haze intrusion for this forecast period.
