Few scattered showers moved across the northern Windwards this morning, as weak unstable conditions associated with a shearline approach the Windward Islands. Isolated showers are possible across our area this afternoon with chance of scattered showers increasing by evening.
The presence of a trough across our area should result in scattered showers on Tuesday. Instability could linger, with mid and upper levels being more supportive to shower activity on Wednesday and Thursday, as instability extends towards the island chain from a strong low in the North Atlantic Ocean. Projections from latest model data indicate more shower activity across the Grenadines than mainland.
Gentle to moderate (12-28km/h) breeze this afternoon could become occasionally fresh (29-38km/h) by tonight. However, moderate (20-28km/h) east north-east breeze are expected over the next few days, backing to north-easterly by late Tuesday due to the trough, then becoming temporarily gentle (12-19km/h) on Wednesday.
Slight (0.6m - 1.0m) seas swells on the west and slight to moderate sea swells (1.0m - 1.5m) on the east should prevail. Mean sea-level pressure is currently around 1016mb, should fall slightly (1012-1014mb) late Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect NORTH-NORTH EAST swells on the east coast late Tuesday. Swells should gradually increase Wednesday to become slight to moderate (1.2m -1.8m) on west and moderate to rough (1.8m -3.0m) on east by Thursday. Visibility should remain good, with less than 20ug/m**3 in dust concentration across our area.
