Mostly cloudy skies, occasional gusty winds and pockets of moderate-heavy showers with thunderstorm activity continue across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) tonight and decrease early Friday…Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should remain alert. A few showers are likely across SVG again by late Friday and over the weekend, with occasional cloud patches. Varying concentrations of Saharan dust concentrations could result in slight-moderate haze across our area.
Gentle-moderate (15 - 25km/h) east south-easterlies occasionally gust between 35 to 40km/h and temporarily turn east north-easterly during Saturday morning.
Marine conditions are slight to moderate in open water (1.0m - 2.0m), falling to range 1.0m - 1.5m by Saturday afternoon and 0.5m - 1.2m during Sunday with slight conditions.
A tropical wave is expected in the Eastern Atlantic with 30% chance of development…The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services (SVG MET Services) will continue to monitor the Tropical Atlantic Ocean and issue updates/advisories as necessary.
