A weak surface to mid level trough is forecast to be in the vicinity tonight, however model analysis is indicating a relatively dry atmosphere, therefore only some brief scattered showers are likely.

As the week progresses however, moisture levels will gradually increase and some showers are more promising around late Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Wind speeds are also forecast to increase to approximately 30km/h around Tuesday evening into Wednesday as a weak Ridge of High pressure re-establishes itself across the islands. Further analysis reveals the approach of another weak trough around Thursday.

Seas are to remain slight to moderate in open waters with swells peaking to 2.0m, however, a slight deterioration is forecast for Tuesday, with swells peaking to 2.5m on the east coast.
