Fair, hazy and breezy conditions should continue this afternoon and tonight as the Central Atlantic High Pressure is the dominant feature. On Friday and Saturday, a couple weak low level pulses should cross the area, but dry air at the low to mid-levels (above 800mb) should negate weak upper level support. No significant rainfall accumulations are expected.

Models indicate that few isolated showers are possible Friday and Saturday. The High Pressure should weaken slightly across our area late Saturday as a shearline, on the south-western side of the Atlantic High Pressure moves across the island chain. Moisture accumulations are expected just north of our area (Dominica /Martinique) late Saturday.

Moderate to fresh (20-38 km/h) easterly breeze should decrease to moderate on Friday, then veering to east south-easterly and further reduction to gentle (12-19km/h) by late Saturday. Overnight winds should be backing to north-east, but gentle to moderate.

Mean sea-level pressure should range between 1014-1017 mb until Friday, falling slightly (1012-1014 mb) on Saturday as weak pulses cross the chain. Wave heights in open water on the west, could range 1.5 m – 1.8 m and on the east, from 1.8 m - 2.5m this afternoon. Overnight, wave heights in open water should be falling to 1.0 m - 2.5 m (slight to moderate conditions).

Patches of Sahara dust with varying intensity are causing fluctuations in visibility, but a general  thinning out of dust concentrations is expected on Friday.
