A trough system is accompanied by a large area of moisture and this will influence the weather conditions across SVG into the weekend. Generally cloudy skies, light to heavy showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms are anticipated. A flash flood watch is in effect for SVG. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flash-flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should exercise extreme caution.
Moderate to fresh (20-35km/h) east south easterly to easterly trades will cross the islands across Thursday. A shift to east north easterly is expected from Saturday. Winds will vary, and become strong (~40km/h) on occasions during this forecast period. Seas are moderate but may become moderate to rough from Saturday as occasional strong winds agitate the ocean surface. Marine users should be prepared for above normal sea swells. Saharan dust haze concentrations could thin out around Saturday evening.
