As the low level trough moves slowly to the west away from the island chain, lingering instability will continue to affect the islands tonight resulting in occasional cloudy periods. Showers are forecast to be brief as mid levels continue to be dry.
Around Monday evening, another low level trough is forecast to be in the vicinity and a gradual increase in moisture at both the mid to upper levels will result in the likelihood of some scattered showers from late Monday night.
At present, model guidance is indicating most of the significant showers will remain offshore to the south of mainland and over the Grenadines due to a strong southwesterly flow initiated by a deep low level center in the Western Atlantic by Tuesday afternoon. Moisture behind of the trough is forecast to linger well into Wednesday and some scattered showers are likely up to this time period. An improvement is anticipated for Wednesday evening.
Seas are to remain slight to moderate in open waters with swells peaking to 2.0m. In addition, slight haze intrusion tomorrow afternoon to increase in intensity as the week continues reducing visibility.
