A surface to lower level trough is generating weak pulses/troughs across the islands. Cloudiness and showers were experienced across northern portion of mainland St.Vincent earlier this morning along with islands northwards of SVG. However, satellite imagery shows clearing with partly cloudy conditions by mid-morning across most of mainland St.Vincent.
The trough is moving away from our area with dust concentrations thickening across the area and inhibiting shower activity.
The High Pressure System should continue building across the region, with few showers possible this afternoon and tonight. Some showers are expected across the Grenadines during Saturday, while mainland can expect another weak pulse and mid level moisture increase late Saturday with shower activity. Thereafter, trade winds from the Atlantic High Pressure should bring some fair and breezy conditions with occasional shallow/showers Sunday and Monday.
East south-east gentle to moderate (15-28 km/h) breeze expected today, expected to become fresh (up to 38 km/h) on Saturday as the pressure gradient increases.
Mean sea-level pressure should range 1012-1014 mb, rising on Saturday as the High Pressure builds. Slight sea swells on the west and slight to moderate sea swells on the east, (0.5m - 1.5m) today.
Dust concentrations are reducing visibility across our islands, expected to thin out on Saturday.
