Mostly fair conditions are forecast for this afternoon with a low chance (20%) for a few showers in a few areas as the atmosphere remains relatively dry. By late evening, cool conditions are forecast as fresh breeze continues to move across the islands.
Model guidance is indicating an increase in low level moisture by tonight as a low level trough embedded within the Atlantic High pressure system makes its way across the region. Mid level is forecast to be dry however, and shower activity may not be significant.
From Sunday afternoon into Tuesday, an east south-easterly wind flow at low levels will bring moisture into the vicinity from the equatorial regions. In addition, another trough system is forecast to be in the vicinity around Monday afternoon, and by this time there will be an increase in moisture at mid levels. Model guidance is indicating a high chance (80%) for some showers around Monday afternoon into Tuesday.
Generally easterly winds at 30km/h to 40km/h is forecast for the next 24hrs becoming mostly from the east south-east at 25km/h from tomorrow afternoon. Seas are moderate in open waters with swells peaking to 2.5m on the eastern coast. Consequently, a decrease in the wind speed around Sunday afternoon will result in some slight conditions on the western coast with swells peaking to 1.2m but remaining moderate on the eastern coast.
Slight haze intrusion to increase in intensity by tomorrow reducing visibility and improvement is forecast for Monday.
