Partly cloudy to cloudy skies and scattered showers will persist under hazy conditions within the next 2 days. In addition, a tropical wave approaches our islands around Friday, and this could trigger some showers and possible isolated thunderstorms. Improvements to these weather conditions are anticipated as Saturday progresses. Saharan dust intrusion of varying concentration is likely to continue across the islands within the next few days reducing air quality and visibility. Remain Alert.

Gentle to moderate (15-25 km/h) east north easterly to easterly trades are crossing the islands. An increase in wind speed is likely by Thursday evening along with a directional change to east south easterly. Seas are slight to moderate in open waters with swells ranging between 1.0m-1.5m on the western coasts, and 1.5m-2.0m on the eastern coasts. Swell heights should rise from late Thursday night. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells and reduced visibility in dust haze.
