Weather Discussion:
Instability will be across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines over the weekend into the new week, resulting in a high chance of showers and thunderstorm activity. Residents and motorists should be alert. An increase in shower activity is anticipated for the remainder of Friday as a shearline affects the island.
As Saturday progresses, a low level trough will begin to affect the islands, generating some showers. Unstable conditions will be maintained into the night with an increase in shower activity on Sunday as equatorial moisture moves over the island chain. Scattered showers are anticipated on Monday.
East to east north easterly (E-ENE) winds are forecast at 8mph – 15mph (10km/h-25km/h), becoming generally southerly from Saturday night. Winds can become gusty near showers. Be alert. Seas are forecast to be smooth to moderate in open waters with swells ranging between 0.5m-1.0m on the western coasts, and 1.0m-2.0m on the eastern coasts. Slight haze is forecast for Saturday with no significant intrusion for the remainder of the forecast period.
