Weather Discussion:
Over the next few days, partly cloudy-cloudy skies are expected across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). Occasional cloud patches converging across our islands, along with day-time heating and light winds with variable direction could result in a few scattered showers and isolated/localised thunderstorms across parts of SVG…Be Alert as flash-flooding is possible. Good visibility continues across our area.
Light-gentle (< 15km/h) breeze across our islands are varying widely in direction, becoming calm at times with no cooling effect…Be Alert!
Sea conditions across SVG are smooth to slight in open water, with swells near 0.5m west of our islands and ranging 1.0m to 1.5m east of our islands.
Hurricane Kirk in the central Atlantic Ocean, could move north-northwest. ‘Kirk’ is expected to become a large Major Hurricane, pulling winds away from the island chain and generating sea-swells which could spread outward to portions of Leeward Islands during this weekend.
There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect for ‘Kirk’, nor Tropical Depression #13 in the far eastern Atlantic Ocean…The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the Tropical Atlantic Ocean and issue updates/advisories as necessary.
