A trough system is generating cloudy skies across our islands. Pockets of showers, some of which may be moderate at times and isolated thunderstorms are forecast into Sunday evening. A flash flood watch is in effect until 6pm today. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should be prepared. Conditions may deteriorate across the night, therefore a warning may be issued if conditions warrant. Showers are likely to persist along Monday with improvements forecast as Tuesday progresses.
Gentle to moderate (10- 20km/h) east to east north easterly trades are crossing our islands with gusts near showers. Wind speeds should increase (20-30 km/h) on Monday Seas are currently slight to moderate in open water with swells peaking up to 1.0m on western coasts and range between 1.5m and 2.0m on eastern coasts. Deterioration in sea conditions are likely from Monday therefore, marine users should exercise caution. In addition, slight Saharan dust haze concentrations are anticipated from Monday.
