Weather Discussion:
A few showers and a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms are possible this afternoon as the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affects the southern portion of the island chain. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams are asked to exercise caution.
Dry mid levels and sinking air aloft could mean an alternation of fair conditions with cloudy spells during Wednesday. A shearline will be affecting the region on Thursday and some scattered showers are forecast with instability lingering into Friday.
Winds are blowing from the east south east at 20km/h-30km/h, becoming easterly on occasion and decreasing in speed around Thursday onwards. Sea conditions are moderate in open waters, with swells peaking at 1.5m on the western coasts and 2.5m on the eastern coasts. Small craft operators and sea bathers are asked to exercise caution on Wednesday. A gradual improvement is anticipated from Thursday. Thin layer of dust haze will eventually become insignificant.
