A FLASH-FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ST. VINCENT & THE GRENADINES
Issued: 6:00 am Saturday, 26th July, 2025
Cloudy to overcast skies, pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of light rain and thunderstorms are anticipated across our islands today as a tropical wave affects our island chain. These conditions are likely across St. Vincent & the Grenadines within the next 12 hours. In addition, rainfall accumulations of 50-75mm (approximately 2-3 inches) with isolated higher amounts in mountainous areas are also possible.
Due to the already saturated nature of soils in some areas from previous rainfall events, the weather advisory that was already in effect for a low risk of flooding for SVG has now been upgraded to a Flash-Flood Watch and will remain in effect until 6pm today, Saturday 26th July 2025.
Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should be prepared.
A Flood-Watch is issued when conditions are favourable and there exists the possibility of flooding during the watch period.
This Flash-Flood Watch may be upgraded to a warning if conditions warrant or discontinued if conditions improve significantly.
