WEATHER INFORMATION STATEMENT Number SEVEN (7) for SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES (SVG)

At 5:00am, Tropical Storm (TS) Beryl was located near latitude 9.8°N longitude 45.5°W, or about 1088 miles (1750 kilometers) east of SVG. TS Beryl has the potential for further development over the next couple days, before reaching our area.
TS Beryl is moving westward at 21 mph or ~33 km/h, approaching the Windward Islands by Monday. Maximum sustained winds 50mph or 85km/h and minimum central pressure1001mb or 29.56 inches
TS Beryl is expected to strengthen and on the current track, the center of the system is expected near our islands during Monday.
Residents are strongly advised to keep informed on the progress of the Tropical Storm Beryl…Watches and Warnings (Tropical Storm/Hurricane) may become necessary for St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) during today.

Moisture associated with a tropical wave is expected across our islands with moderate-heavy showers and thunderstorm activity today.
An area of disturbance located over the Eastern Atlantic is also being monitored, with a 50% chance of development and a tropical depression could form by the middle of next week (Wednesday) as it tracks near our area.
