Pockets of showers, strong winds and possible isolated thunderstorms are forecast across Saturday afternoon as a wave exits the Eastern Caribbean.

Residents and motorists in areas prone to flash flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should remain alert. In addition, a high wind advisory remains in effect until 6pm, therefore, residents are strongly urged to be vigilant against falling trees limbs, loose outdoor objects and disconnected over-head wires. Saharan dust haze concentrations will be noticeable up to Sunday. Take precautions. A few shallow moisture patches will allow for some passing showers on Monday before an approaching tropical wave affects our islands around Tuesday.

Near gale (~50 km/h) south easterly to easterly trades are crossing our islands, slightly decreasing (~45 km/h) by nightfall. A significant decrease (10-25 km/h) in wind speeds is expected on Tuesday. Seas are moderate to rough in open water with swells peaking near 1.8 m on western coasts and near 2.8 m on eastern coasts. A small craft advisory remains in effect for SVG. Only vessels capable of withstanding these swell magnitudes should venture out. Sea-bathers are advised to stay out of the water. Moderate sea swells are expected on Sunday, however an improvement to the marine conditions are anticipated from Tuesday.
