Weather outlook 12 noon 1st October 2017

A weak low level trough is affecting our islands today with occasional cloudy skies and a few scattered showers. A tropical wave is expected to approach the area by Tuesday. The possibility of some weak upper level support; due to positioning of upper level low could result in isolated shower activity Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Also, a shearline could develop on the south western edge of an Atlantic High Pressure System adding to unstable conditions across the area.

Generally moderate (20-28km/h) east north-easterly breeze; should increase overnight to fresh (29-38km/h) returning to moderate by Tuesday afternoon, with the approach of next tropical wave.

The direction should veer to east south-easterly by Wednesday. Generally slight to moderate (1.0m - 1.5m) seas swells could gradually rise to moderate by Wednesday (1.25 – possibly over 2.0m).
